General Description

HiDTV™ Pro-SX is Trident’s 8th generation all-in-one System-Ona-Chip digital TV engine for the high-definition digital TV system. HiDTV™PRO-SX includes all key functions needed for both highquality digital and analog TV broadcasting with minimum external components. It integrates two 32-bit MIPS® microprocessors, MPEG4/H.264, HP@L4.1, and MPEG2 MP@HL decoders that are both compliant with DVB/ATSC demodulation, a programmable transport stream de-multiplexer, a high-performance 2D graphics engine, and Trident’s industry-leading DCRe™ video processor to enhance all essential video signals. A unified external DDR2/GDDR3 DRAM (32-bit wide) is used for both the system buffer and application programming. HiDTV™Pro-SX integrates a HDMI 1.3a receiver and three high-speed ADCs to support up to 1080p digital and analog video inputs and one ADC to support CVBS and full SCART.

HiDTV™ PRO-SX integrates digital audio decoder and processor for worldwide television. It performs high quality and advanced digital audio processing, including selected third party post processing (with valid license). HiDTV™ Pro-SX receives the output from the channel demodulator as well as analog signals from an off-the-air tuner, cable tuner, or external CVBS, S-video, YPrPb, HDMI and RGB input.

HiDTV™ Pro-SX targets the mainstream DTV segment, without compromise, using Trident’s superior DCRe technology that brings high-performance video processing with vivid and brilliant video images. The SOC accomplishes the best cost-performance by integrating not only the major IP’s but also key interface functions based on a complete system design perspective.
