General Description

HiDTV® Pro-SXL is Trident’s 9^th generation all-in-one System-on-a-chip for digital TV systems. HiDTV® Pro-SXL demonstrates Trident’s leadership in the digital and analog demodulators, picture quality and audio performance; and at the same time delivers the best cost-performance BOM. The SOC incorporates high-performance MIPS microprocessors, a 2D graphics engine with full SVG blending capabilities, and Trident’s industry-leading Enhanced Super Resolution scaling engine with DCRe® video processor to enhance video signals.

A unified memory architecture (32-bit wide bus) supporting external DDR2/3 DRAM (32-bit wide) is used for both system processing and application programming. A HDMI 1.4 receiver with a 4-to-1 HDMI switch and high-speed ADCs allow capture up to 1080p digital and analog video inputs. A digital audio decoder and processor provide for worldwide television audio support. HiDTV ®PRO-SXL has the ability to provide high quality and advanced digital audio processing, including selected third party post processing (with valid license).

HiDTV® Pro-SXL uses Trident’s Enhanced Super Resolution technology which includes the 9^th generation DCRe™ algorithms, to provide smooth, vivid and brilliant HD quality video images regardless of the different input resolution. Trident offers a completely proven worldwide DTV SDK platform to enable faster time to market. The DTV SDK has features specifically designed for enabling value add Connected TV features such as multimedia playback, PVR, DLNA and widgets taking advantage of the integrated USB 2.0 host and ethernet connectivity of the HiDTV® Pro-SXL.
