TRIDENT AND ALi FUEL BEST OF COMDEX AWARD FOR TOSHIBA TABLET PERSONAL COMPUTERS
Portege 3500 Tablet PCs Rely on Duo’s Graphics & Core Logic Technology
Sunnyvale, California, December 10, 2002:
Trident Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:TRID)-in
conjunction with ALi Corp.–has revealed that the integrated
graphics chipset developed by the two companies is a pivotal
component in both Toshiba Portege 3500 Series Tablet personal
computers and Portege 2000 Series Notebooks. The Portege 3500
has just won the Best of Comdex 2002 award for the year’s
top personal computer and the Portege 2000 previously won
the Editors’ Choice award by PC Magazine.
The Portege 3500 and Portege 2000 use the CyberALADDiN-T,
jointly developed by both companies and consists of Trident’s
2D/3D graphics core (CyberBLADE XP). It is specifically targeted
for thin-and-light notebooks due to its low-power and its
high level of integration.

our innovation in providing the lowest-power integrated graphics

The integrated graphics and core logic CyberALADDIN-T is
fully PC2001 and Windows XP compliant for both notebook and
Tablet PC editions, contains a dual-pixel, quad-texture rendering
engine operating at 133 MHz system clock and has advanced
power-management supporting speedstep that reduces maximum
power dissipation to less than 2.4 watts.
The Toshiba Portege 3500 Series Tablet PC use the 1.33 GHz
Intel Pentium III-M processor, 12.1 inch Polysilicon TFT active
matrix (XGA) display, 256MB – 1024MB of SDRAM memory, 20GB
- 60 GB of disk storage and supports Windows XP Tablet Edition.
The Toshiba Portege 2000 Series Notebook PCs use the 750
MHz Intel Pentium III-M processor, 12.1 inch Polysilicon TFT
active matrix (XGA) display, 256MB – 512MB of SDRAM memory,
a 20GB hard drive and supports Windows XP/2000.
